Here We Go Again!

With Hillary Clinton being the presumptive nominee for the democrats in 2016 the anti-Hillary campaign from the Right has already begun and we can expect that it will increasingly inundate the blogosphere and the world of campaign commercials over the next two years. Hundreds of millions of dollars will be spent to remind voters about Travelgate, Whitewater, Hillarycare, Vince Foster, disappearing and reappearing documents, Benghazi and the political partnership masquerading as a marriage with Bill Clinton. All of this matters, or at least it should, yet it’s also a distraction from the more fundamental argument for why people like Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton should not be elected, which is this: They’re liberals, they’re leftists, and they’re wrong for this country. In fact they’re wrong for ANY country, so perhaps conservatives should agree to align themselves behind one bumper sticker for this campaign: “It’s Liberalism, Stupid!”

Liberalism has given us the welfare nation, the entitlement society, a nation of illegal immigrants and illegitimate children, a declining dollar, a shrinking workforce, Obamacare, and a debt crisis that’s about to explode in our faces and alter life as we know it. It’s cost the U.S. its world ranking in education, its AAA credit rating, its credibility and its common sense, not to mention its soul. It’s destroyed nations before and it’s destroying us. If we can make that case, if we can get that message across, then the campaign against Hillary becomes quite simple and it goes like this: “She’s a leftist. Any Questions?” More importantly, the argument is timeless and non-discriminatory. It applies to every leftist that comes along, saving conservatives the time, energy and resources of reinventing the wheel and building a different case against each and every opponent, as we now do.

Let us remember that the strategy we have now isn’t working. We throw everything and the kitchen sink at them and they throw the same back at us and in the end we lose. We make it about the candidate, not about ideas, and when their ideas fail they simply produce another candidate. It’s time to use our elections – both our primaries and general elections – to remind and/or educate voters about the effects of progressivism and what they can expect in the future if it continues.

  1. I can only hope and pray you are read and listened to, CW.
A VERY well written documentary. WELL worth the read~!

  2. Clyde says:

EXCELLENT post, CW. Could not have said it as eloquently. Take a bow.

  3. Crawfish says:

    Constitution or Liberalism
    There can be only one

  4. upaces88 says:

This is so disgusting that it is more like a cruelty joke.
We have Hillary on one side, and fatso Christy on the other.

    • CW says:

We’re still a ways from the election. I’m not ready to concede that Christy is a foregone conclusion.

  5. Terry says:

    Well done, CW.

    “She’s a leftist. Any Questions?”
    OR
    “She’s a Leftist. Google That !”

Those would make great bumper stickers.

  6. Hardnox says:

Good post CW. The case against lefties can easily be made by US. We can’t count on the GOP to do it.

  7. Kathy says:

Go, CW, you’re on a roll! Yes, we have to learn to fight better and smarter. The GOP’s tactics, if they even have any, aren’t working. Sheesh, you’d think they’d get off the ropes and see that after a while.

  8. BrianR says:

I think the current Obamacare fiasco, in all its manifestations, is the perfect vehicle for doing exactly that.

Now, if the Perpetually Stupid Party can pull their heads out of their butts long enough to smell the coffee, they may actually be able to do something about it.

    • CW says:

I don’t think the PSP will make good use of this moment, Brian. They’re talking about repealing and “replacing” Obamacare, which says to me they just don’t get it.

  9. Mrs AL says:

But … conservatives, the Tea Party and the republican party want to keep birth control from women and take away their RIGHT TO CHOOSE.

    Game, set, match.

    • CW says:

I’m not aware of any conservative-sponsored legislation to prevent women from having birth control but it’s true that conservatives believe in the right to live. If you would trade that and risk every other fundamental freedom for the right to have abortions than you can be bought pretty cheaply.

    • upaces88 says:

I hope we make it to 2016. For the most part, he IS already the “un-titled” Dictator.
By then? We will know that we only THINK we get to vote. Think about it. He didn’t get in the first or second time as president without massive fraud.

  10. Buck says:

Mrs AL: Why not take away their right to choose?
They made the choice to have sex evidently during that critical period of their cycle and without contraceptive protection. Bad choice.
Now they wish to kill the life resulting in their first bad choice.
    Another bad choice.
Doesn’t seem like folks who demand freedom of choice have much ability to make a good choice, does it?

    • Mrs AL says:

I understand your POV, Buck. However, we are engaged in a type of war. And if we get diverted from the prime objective, we ill lose it all. I am as pro-life as they get. Murder of the most innocent is the most despicable act one can commit. Only cowards of the highest degree kill the most vulnerable.

That said, if we conservatives keep focusing on ‘taking things away’ we won’t win this war. A huge block of citizens vote based upon loss, not gain.

      Sorry to babble.

      • CW says:

You both make good points but as you demonstrated above, Mrs. AL, the issue is going to be raised front and center and conservatives must be prepared to respond. I agree that It would be a mistake to make that an issue to run on because of what you said above but also because that fight is going to continue regardless of who wins the election.

  11. tannngl says:

How about: “She’s a Communist! Any questions?”

You’d get a few more conversations from the libs. 😀
Although Communism isn’t the awful word it used to be in 1950…

  12. CW says:

She’s not that far off but I think we’d overpay our hand by taking it that far. We want to be taken seriously, not dismissed as hysterical which is how it would be played.

    Thanks for coming by Tannngl!

  13. PT Bohan says:

Your right CW, but but both Clinton’s still has very high approval ratings.Unfortunately, in the world of politics they have to try to bring the truth about these candidates to the forefront. The liberal smear machine worked well for Obama. I think in today’s America 25% of Americans want to have entitlements and 25% of Americans want to give it to them so they are at a majority. If ObamaCare continues to screw Americans maybe we should tie the Clinton’s to this law?

    • CW says:

No doubt about it we should tie the Clintons to this law, Patrick! This is what I would suggest:

Obamacare is the ultimate demonstration of liberalism. It’s failed on every level. Hillary Clinton is a liberal. Enough said.
