Obamacare Website Company Was Fired by Canadian Government for Poor Performance

From the Gateway Pundit:

Oh well. It only cost $634 million.
The Canadian government fired the parent company of CGI Federal, the prime contractor for the problem-plagued Obamacare health exchange websites, last year for poor performance.

So it only makes sense that the Obama Administration would be working with them.
Heck, it’s not their money.

FrontPage reported:

So Obama took a Canadian company that Canadian officials fired for screwing up their health care website and gave it a much bigger job.

Canadian provincial health officials last year fired the parent company of CGI Federal, the prime contractor for the problem-plagued Obamacare health exchange websites, the Washington Examiner has learned.

CGI Federal’s parent company, Montreal-based CGI Group, was officially terminated in September 2012 by an Ontario government health agency after the firm missed three years of deadlines and failed to deliver the province’s flagship online medical registry.

Oh… And the company used 10 year-old technology to build the Obamacare website.
USA Today reported, via Guy Benson:

The federal health care exchange was built using 10-year-old technology that may require constant fixes and updates for the next six months and the eventual overhaul of the entire system, technology experts told USA TODAY….Recent changes have made the exchanges easier to use, but they still require clearing the computer’s cache several times, stopping a pop-up blocker, talking to people via Web chat who suggest waiting until the server is not busy, opening links in new windows and clicking on every available possibility on a page in the hopes of not receiving an error message. With those changes, it took one hour to navigate the HealthCare.gov enrollment process Wednesday. Those steps shouldn’t be necessary, experts said…”The application could be fundamentally flawed,” said Jeff Kim, president of CDNetworks, a content-delivery network. “They may be using 1990s technology in 2.0 world.” Outsiders acknowledged they can’t see the whole system, but they said they feared HHS built a system that will need an expensive overhaul that would cause more headaches for people trying to buy insurance.

Gee, I wonder how much this company kicked back to the DNC?

Great, they can’t even hire an American company. LOL
They also have copyright problems from a UK company – http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/obamacare-website-violates-licensing-agreement-copyrighted-software_763666.html

    • Hardnox says:

Stunning isn’t it? keep telling us about J-O-B-S and how he’s focused like a laser on it while outsourcing jobs. What a douche.

Now the Brits want to cash in on this? Why not!

  2. Kathy says:

Ten year old technology means they will pump even more money into this disaster to bring it up to date. Obama isn’t about to let this thing implode – he wants this implemented, come hell or high water, so he will do everything he can to fund it.

  3. Clyde says:

No big surprise here. Follow the money. Leads RIGHT back to the DNC, and Obozo himself.

  4. garnet92 says:

You can bet that this initial $93 million contract was subject to only two questions: 1) How much money did you contribute to Obama’s election campaign(s) and, 2) how much will you commit to pay Obama as a “consultant,” lobbyist, or “speaker” after he leaves office.

If SOME of the reports that we’re hearing from technically qualified software people are true, there is no way that the software was written “from scratch.”

This sounds very much like a company was hired to install a software product that already existed (written ten years ago) and modify it to “fit” the needs of Obamacare. I’ve seen that happen many times and seldom is it successful.

Like Clyde said, follow the money.

  5. Saltwater says:

I checked opensecrets.org for both CGI Group and CGI Federal. Neither entity seemed to drop sums lobbying. What they did actually had a slight advantage in R over D. We might have to look up individual board members for linkage.

Then I came across this article at WaPo. It may give some insight. Note the stock value keeps rising – even with ObamaDoesn’tCare fiasco.

The bigger payday may lie in holding stock in the company. Good luck trying to find out which DC denizens have this in their portfolios,

    • Hardnox says:

Thanks for the sleuthing. Good luck is right. They have covered this “like turds in a litter-box” as Clyde likes to say.

What a surprise! The stock is going up!

  6. Buck says:

Stop and think about it. Who the Hell else would Obama hire but someone who would screw up, costing the taxpayer more money than needed?

  7. myfoxmystere says:

They really stuck it to 0tard: “LOOK MA! I’M ROADKILL! HA HA HA!!!”

  8. Gunny G says:

NO DOUBT there are Obama donors inside the company but being across the border makes it hard to track. I wonder how much stock Soros had in CGI Federal.
