More Veterans Going to Washington DC

I found this on Facebook from a group called the National Liberty Federation.

Another group of military veterans is scheduled to arrive in D.C. tomorrow morning to carry out a second protest, demanding lawmakers immediately end the government shutdown.
The protest is being organized by The Military Coalition (TMC), …a group of 33 organizations that represents 5.5 million people. Members are comprised of the uniformed services—active, reserve, retired veterans, survivors and their families.
TMC’s protest arrives on the heels of the “Million Vet March” that occurred over the weekend attracting thousands of veterans who marched on the National Mall and then on to the White House to peacefully demonstrate their anger over the government shutdown. Veterans voiced their displeasure for the closing of the memorials as they removed the barricades and carried them to the White House where they stacked them neatly out front.
“This is our way of life. We will not stand by and let the U.S. government dishonor the legacy of sacrifice of the generations before us. It’s time to make a stand.”
TMC believes in strength in numbers and hopes the rally will grab the attention of lawmakers tomorrow, and put an end to the suffering inflicted on veterans stemming from the government shutdown. Veterans on disability and GI Bill benefits are unsure if they’ll receive their next check, and their access to medical care has been severely limited following the rollout of Obamacare.

Maybe if people keep going back, they’ll get the message???

Go get ’em! Thanx for posting this, Kathy. I will be on the watch for local news coverage. Of course that presupposes there will be any coverage.

  2. Clyde says:

Kudos to them. However, getting Obozo to do ANYTHING is like pulling chicken teeth.

  3. Hardnox says:

Oh good. The weather will be much better tomorrow. I wonder if the cops will don their riot gear.

Yes, they will. The best practice in this situation is for Five-Doh! to keep a distance and monitor it from afar. Odrama won’t go for that, though. The Spite House will send out all the king’s men, and there will be more pics of armed thugs disarming vets of their American flags. The repubs need to act on this and keep those pics and vids airing on national teevee in 2014 and 2016.

  4. What concerns me is the caving on the ACA / Obamacare, to achieve the aims of the various protestors~! THAT is not the fault of the protestors, but the airheaded numbnuts in Congress and the White House.

I really want them to go in very large groups. Otherwise, I fear for them.
That felt very sad that I even had to state that fear. This is NOT the way it is supposed to be in America!!!
