Mychal Massie – “Fired Up For Freedom”

Here’s Mychal Massie:

I am fired up for freedom

Mychal Massie, The Daily Rant

Marsha Hughes is one of my readers. She commented on my Facebook page, “You’re really FIRED UP FOR FREEDOM, Mychal! Thank you!”

She’s right. I am “fired up for freedom” because, just as it is with time and life, it is a commodity that when taken away, i.e., gone, you do not get it back. There is no do over.

I have enjoyed freedom from the moment of my birth, and I have no desire to see my child and future grandchildren enjoy anything less. As I wrote late this summer referencing my friend, “Immigres Understand Socialist Threat Of Obama” those coming here from communist states understand and appreciate freedom, as well. It is, however, those who have lived as wards of the intrusive government state who do not appreciate freedom because for the greater portion of their lives, if not their entire lives, they have had to turn over their will to the government hand that feeds them. They are told where they can live; they are limited to traveling only as far as public transportation and bus transfers will take them; they are limited to where they can shop based on the restrictions of their government issued “Access” cards; and they are constrained to schooling in public education cesspools. And the aforementioned doesn’t begin to enumerate the number of ways freedom has been and is being taken away from those who are blind to their loss.

I’m “fired up for freedom” because I know what life will be without it. I wasn’t born to have some necrophagistic ghoul with slicked back hair and/or fashionably dressed tell me what I can or cannot do, say, or be. This is America. In America, we are limited only by our ability to dream and pursue same. There is nothing save my God and Savior, and my son, that I value more than my freedom. I will never give up my fight for same. How say you all?

All the best,

Mychal Massie

Good piece, GF. Massie is spot-on.

  2. Kathy says:

Since the shutdown, it feels like, and reads like, more and more people are pissed off and truly sick of all the BS coming out of our federal government. This could be the most ‘fired up’ I’ve ever seen Mr. Massie, and he’s not the only one.

On every website where I read news, I’m seeing a ratcheted up tone, and not just from the peoples’ comments, but from the authors as well. Something is definitely stirring in this USA. I’m with you, Mr. Massie.

    I say “AMEN Brother Massie ” !

I agree with everyone with one caveat … (ok, stop rolling your eyes — haha):

    > She’s right. I am “fired up for freedom” because, just as it is with time and life, it is a commodity that when taken away, i.e., gone, you do not get it back. There is no do over”

I understand the intent of the sentence. However, given the number of freedoms that have already been taken away, isn’t it inevitable that we lose them all if I follow this line of logic?

Killjoy comment over. Sorry, it’s one of those days.

The sad part of it is those freedoms I remember from my younger days are gone now and no one is concerned because most people never knew of them and so do not miss them. They just take the life of government dictates as normal.

    • That which is landing kids in trouble with “the law” now, are the things we did as the norm in our youth. Fishing, carrying our rifles in the cars, target shooting in the crick bed,,, and even carrying a pocket knife and using it IN CLASS, for this, that or the other. BUT, we never thought of using it as a weapon in the classroom.
Thanks for the memory jog, Buck. Seems we have a lot of work to do.
With Freedom comes responsibility. The greater the Freedom, the greater the responsibility for its moral use.
