Tax Dollars Fund Video to Promote Islam Women’s Rights

See government-funded videos promoting Muslims’ faith, accomplishments

Want to see your tax dollars promoting Islam and giving Muslims at an Islamic school in New York an opportunity to complain that other people don’t understand them, don’t respect them and discriminate against them in restaurants?

Oh, and you’ll also learn that Islam gave women rights in the 7th century that women in the West had to live without until the 19th and 20th centuries.

Just tune in to the multimedia  page at the website for the Women’s Rights National Historical Park.

The Schenectady, N.Y, attraction is a part of the National Park Service.  It highlights the campaign for women’s rights and has created a series of at least three videos with students  from the local AnNur Islamic School.

The videos provide a forum for students to boast about Islam and complain about how they are treated. The students also express their beliefs about their own behavior and conduct.

And there’s the mention of women’s rights.

Says one student on camera: “People think that Islam oppresses women and there’s no equality, but they’re wrong – there’s equity … 7th century A.D. Islam gave women the right to be involved in politics, the right to earn and keep her own money.”

The student said Islam “gave women the right to work outside of the home, Islam gave women the right to own property, Islam gave women the right to divorce, Islam gave women the right to choose who she marries.”

“Islam gave women a whole bunch of rights that Western women acquired later in the 19th and 20th centuries, and we’ve had these rights since the 7th century  A.D., and it’s just not acknowledged worldwide,” he declared.

Robert Spencer at Jihad Watch. commented: “Your tax dollars at work. I am looking forward to seeing the National Park Service videos praising the contributions of Judaism and  Christianity to women’s rights.”

The  Independent Journal Review commented facetiously that it’s “fantastic that the National Park Service is out there using taxpayer dollars to correct the false record against Muslims, such as the ‘moderate’ Muslim Brotherhood’s  scathing backlash against the U.N.’s Declaration of Women’s Rights” or “Muslim  states’ objection to ‘gay rights’ at a U.N. human rights forum.”

“Well thank goodness the National Park Service is doing the job that no one else will – defend the history of Islam’s contributions to women’s  liberation!”

In one of the videos, a student complains of discrimination.

“A few years ago they made Eid, like a day for schools to close down and people could take a break. People were saying why should it be changed, this is a Christian country. We shouldn’t change for them. But if you look at the Constitution, there’s separation from state and church. So they’re saying if you’re going to go to an Arab country, they are not going to break for Christmas  but over here we’re going to break for Eid and Ramada and stuff. It’s actual separation from state and church and they don’t understand that and they think since the majority of the U.S. is Christian that we shouldn’t be equal to other  people.”

BizPacReview said that whatever expense was involved comes at the wrong time.

“The National Park Service earlier this year prepared for sequestration budget cuts by closing visitor centers and furloughing park police – but still managed to produce videos promoting the virtues of Islam’s respect for women’s rights,” the publication said.

“While roads reopened later … visitor centers remain shuttered and fewer seasonal workers are being hired, according to USA Today,” BizPacReview said.  But “in videos on the park’s website, children in an Islamic school … ‘discuss their experiences and challenges with negative Muslim stereotypes and assumptions.’”

The publication noted that the claim to Islam’s creation of women’s rights “appears to contradict the ’10 reasons we hate women’s rights’ which the Muslim Brotherhood presented to the United Nations in March.”

“The most egregious aspect of the video is that it was funded with taxpayer dollars,” the publication said.

One commenter on the Jihad Watch site pinpointed his concern: “The salient point here is not whether Islam ‘gave women rights’ (it did not), but that the National Park Service spent taxpayers’ money and time to promote a religion.  Since when did NPS’s duties include religion at all?”

Among the remarks in the taxpayer-funded videos:

  • “We pray five times a day and we fast during the month of Ramadan. … We  praise our God every time, and … if we don’t do it our prayer is not counted.”
  • “They think all Muslims are from an Arab country, and we don’t know how to  speak English.”
  • “If you’re at the mall, they give you the evil eye.”
  • “Our food is served later … or our food doesn’t came as fast as other people  even though they come after us.”
  • “Everyone just stares at you.”
  • “They ignore us.”
  • “A lot of people are against us so they’d do anything to make us look bad.”

The Women’s Rights National Historical Park, established in 1980, comprises about seven acres. It includes four historical properties, one of which is the Wesleyan Chapel, the site of the first Women’s Rights Convention.

The park says that movements seeking to end discrimination based on race,  religion and sexual orientation “are all connected in the fight for civil and human rights.”

“Women’s Rights National Historical Park recognizes the efforts of not just Women’s Rights advocates, but all people who struggle to achieve civil and human rights in the United States and around the world.”

Ok, color me ignorant, but I didn’t know we had a Women’s Rights National Historical Park. It’s just my opinion, but I don’t think a shrine to women’s rights is something the NPS should be paying for, and they sure as hell shouldn’t be paying for lying videos made to induce sympathy from the American people for muslims!

In March, 2013, the Tea Party Command Center posted the Muslim Brotherhood’s “10 Reasons We Hate Women’s Rights and it is as follows:

1. Granting girls full sexual freedom, as well as the freedom to decide their own gender and the gender of their partners (ie, choose to have normal or homo-sexual relationships), while raising the age of marriage.

2. Providing contraceptives for adolescent girls and training them to use those, while legalizing abortion to get rid of unwanted pregnancies, in the name of sexual and reproductive rights.

3. Granting equal rights to adulterous wives and illegitimate sons resulting from adulterous relationships.

4. Granting equal rights to homosexuals, and providing protection and respect for prostitutes.

5. Giving wives full rights to file legal complaints against husbands accusing them of rape or sexual harassment, obliging competent authorities to deal husbands punishments similar to those prescribed for raping or sexually harassing a stranger.

6. Equal inheritance (between men and women).

7. Replacing guardianship with partnership, and full sharing of roles within the family between men and women such as: spending, child care and home chores.

8. Full equality in marriage legislation such as: allowing Muslim women to marry non-Muslim men, and abolition of polygamy, dowry, men taking charge of family spending, etc.

9. Removing the authority of divorce from husbands and placing it in the hands of judges, and sharing all property after divorce.

10. Cancelling the need for a husband’s consent in matters like: travel, work, or use of contraception.

Does this sound like the creed of a religion that gave women equal rights in the 7th century AD? These barbarians marry off girls as young as six, behead people, mutilate young women to prevent child-bearing and fly planes full of people into buildings full of more innocent people.  And they lie to these kids in the video to further their agenda.

Take another look at the last statement in the above story…”Women’s Rights National Historical Park recognizes the efforts of not just Women’s Rights advocates, but all people who struggle to achieve civil and human rights in the United States and around the world.”

If that’s the case, then they’re no longer just about Women’s Rights and it’s no longer just about America, so why is it considered a National Park? And why doesn’t the UN pay for it instead of US?

As we all know these people aren’t struggling and they aren’t here to blend and be ‘Americanized’; they are here to dominate and ruin our country with their ‘beliefs’.

I remain pissed to the max.

  1. Burnt to a Crisp, worse than over fried Bacon.

“Those who stay in America should be open to society without melting, keeping Mosques open so anyone can come and learn about Islam. If you choose to live here, you have a responsibility to deliver the message of Islam … Islam isn’t in America to be equal to any other faiths, but to become dominant. The Koran, the Muslim book of scripture, should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth.”

“Fighting for freedom, fighting for Islam, that is not suicide,” … “They kill themselves for Islam.”

    • Kathy says:

Burnt is right, Grouchy. These muslim kids are being indoctrinated just as badly as our school kids are. They are NOT learning the whole truth of Islam.

  2. bullright says:

Truly an insult to common sense and modern intelligence. Leave it the government.
What is Washington now the center of the caliphate?

A country that harasses its military chaplains can produce commercials for Islam?

    • Kathy says:

Yes, it is indeed insulting – our government moves more to the left everyday, and at our expense.

Good point on the chaplains – we can’t promote Christianity in the military but we can fund faux national parks for muslim beliefs.

  3. myfoxmystere says:

Funny…this isn’t what Walid Shoebat told us about Muslims…Muslims treat their wives like cattle. And Walid is an ex Muslim. Nonie Darwish says the same thing as Shoebat, and she’s also an ex Muslim. Kudos to Joseph Farah’s paper World Net Daily for exposing the muslims for what they really are: Satan’s puppets.

  4. Hardnox says:

Women’s rights and Islam in the same sentence is an oxymoron. Anyone that believes that drivel is simply ignorant.

I had no idea either that we had a Women’s Rights National Park. Good grief.

    • I see this as another effort to trivialize the greatness, strength and Beauty that is America, and the American Heritage. That heritage was created by all Americans working together, not by any one group standing apart and bellering about how they’re mistreated because not everyone is kowtowing to their whims and whips~!

    • Kathy says:

It just so figures that our government would fund something this contradictory – their endless idiocy never ceases!

  5. Buck says:

Here again I lay much of the blame for the attitude taken towards islam at the feet of President George W. Bush.
He could have set the record straight at the get go.
    Instead he said,
“Islam is a peaceful religion,’ and “Islam is one of the great religions.”
Bush was either a bigger fool than Chicken Little or he lied through his eyeteeth.

    • Kathy says:

Excellent point, Buck. If Bush had set the record straight from the get-go, we might not be in this huge mess today. I think you could go further back than that even and lay it at his dad’s feet. If Bush Sr had finished the job in Desert Storm, we’d be better off too.

  6. Clyde says:

I recall going past this place back in the 1980’s and wondered WHERE the MEN’S RIGHTS National Park was. Silly me. Since the executive office is staffed with FAR too many muslims, this comes as no surprise they send useful idiots out there to LIE about what Islam truly is. Good post, Kathy, and THANK YOU for the meter warning.

    • Kathy says:

You’re welcome, Clyde – I knew you’d blow a gasket when you saw this. It just flabbergasts me that we have a park dedicated to women’s rights and they’ve now added the muslim content. What’s next? A park dedicated to men, football and beer drinking? hehe

  7. Buck says:

Remember back in the late ’60’s the jokes referring to Smallest Book in the World?
So bring it up to date with a book on muslim women’s rights.
